Ashley and her children are facing the unimaginable. On Friday, January 17th, 2025, Ashley’s husband Jeff tragically passed away. He leaves behind two beautiful children as well, daughter Reagan (7) and son Carter (5). The Lesko family is well-known for their kindness and support to everyone within their community.
I first met Ashley shortly after she started teaching at the school my kids attend. It was just a regular evening at the playground when we struck up a conversation. We talked about our kids, how great the school is, and why her family had moved to Sussex. Talking with her was so easy—it felt natural, like we’d known each other for much longer. Our kids started playing together, and when it was time to leave, I remember feeling a little sad to say goodbye.
About a year later, we crossed paths again—this time at the gym. Ashley spotted me with a huge smile and said, “Hi! Do you remember me? We met at the playground by the library, and our kids are in the same class!” Her joy at seeing me was so genuine, and of course, I remembered her! That smile of hers—it was contagious. From then on, every time I saw her, I’d get this warm, happy feeling. She’s just that kind of person, someone who radiates love, support, and kindness. So. Much. Kindness.
You might remember the image I shared from Fall with the family being chased by the T-Rex? Yep. That was Ashley. If that recreation of a wedding photo doesn't show how amazing their family is, I don't know what does.
She's one of those people, who constantly gives more than she takes, and deserves every ounce we can give back in times like these.
If this small gesture of love is a way I can show her how amazing she is, i'll do what I can!
