The day we met for Payton's cake smash and family session, the weather was everything but with us. Amy, Payton's Mom, and I were chatting all day trying to decided whether to move forward with the session or reschedule. I know what my clients go through to get ready for their session, and then last thing I ever want to do is reschedule, ESPECIALLY for a cake smash! These require a little extra preparation in means of a glorious cake that will not stay good if we have to shift dates!

We all showed up to our location, a little bit early to try and make the most of the time before the rain started. We got through all family shots in about 20 minutes, and I am so happy we did! As soon as we made our way to the tree line to escape the drizzle, the downpour started. Can't say I have ever done a smash in the pouring rain, but luckily the trees kept it from reaching our little Payton! She was blissfully unaware and was able to enjoy her cake in all it's glory!
