Autumn Mays. Class of 2020. Accomplished Violinist. Top Student. 2019 National American Miss Wisconsin Teen!

When I received the email from Autumn's Mother, Denise, I almost thought it was one of those scams. You know, the ones where you are desired to plan and schedule a photo session for a popular magazine or public figure? Okay, maybe not, but I have been *almost* scammed in the past, and I think the part of me that thought, "why would the Mother of the newly crowned NAM Teen Wisconsin want to hire me to do her daughter's senior portraits?

After a few clarifying questions, and a little research on my part, sure enough, this beautiful young woman had been crowned 2019 Miss Wisconsin Teen! I spent the next few weeks planning our session. I knew we were going to have a couple outfit changes, we needed to incorporate her musical talent, banner and crown. Plus, we couldn't forget her cap and gown! I felt like there were so many pieces to this, we couldn't forget to capture Autumn. The Rufus King Class of 2020 Senior.

I loved the idea of the juxtaposition of her violin against the city art of Black Cat Alley, so we started there. I had no idea that butterfly's are Autumns favorite, so what luck when we showed up to this amazing wall! Then, off to the third ward and the riverwalk to capture a few additional scenes to really make sure this experience was the best she could have imagined. (Oh, and PS, if you're wondering what she serenaded me to in the alley.... 'A Whole New World' from Aladdin. Only my fav disney movie ever. She had no idea.)

Match, made in heaven.

We dodged the rain until the last possible second. I don't know how Autumn ended up looking gorgeous the entire time, as her Mom and I couldn't stop talking about how awful the humidity was on our hair! LOL

Thank you Autumn, and Denise (& Tony), for putting your trust in me to capture this amazing time in your life. Cannot wait to see what is in store for you next!
